| Fast growing, upright, spreading tree grows to 70 feet tall with a broadly rounded crown. New foliage emerges vibrant red, turns dark green in summer and a wonderful red to reddish-purple in fall. Fall color is held for 20 to 30 days. Smooth, light gray bark becomes deeply ridged with age. Showy red flowers precede foliage on intriguing reddish branches. A magnificent specimen to be used where space is ample to that it may be appreciated. Species is native to eastern United States. |
