| This is an evergreen shrub, erect, sometimes spreading. Grows to 15 feet tall and 12 feet wide. Leaves are dark green, shiny, leathery, ovate to oblong, to 3 inches in length. Yellowish-green, unisexual flowers are borne in axillary clusters. In the fall, bears round, red fruit to 1/4 across, foliage becomes yellow. Best adapted to cold, dry areas with poor soil.
