| This is an open, spreading, deciduous tree, to 25 feet tall and wide. Leaves are ovate, often lobed, dark green, up to 3 inches long. Red buds develop into double, large pink flowers in spring. Produces green fruit, not ornamental, approximately the size of a cherry. This tree does well in most soil, but will be more attractive if fed peat and compost. Fireblight resistant, otherwise moderately disease resistant. |
