| The roots of R. bulbosus are fibrous and the base of the stem is corm-like. Leaves are ovate, dark green, deeply lobed, to 5 inches in length. Flowers are in panicles similar to cymes, deep golden yellow, saucer-shaped, to 1 1/4 inches. Violet-scented yellow flowers in autumn. Sepals are light yellow, reflexed. Grows 6 to 16 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Up to 250 species of this tuber or fiberous rooted perennial, but really only 2 widely available. |
