| A slower growing, narrow, upright maple which becomes pyramidal with age. May reach 80 feet tall. Deciduous foliage emerges vibrant red, turns dark green in summer, and brilliant orange to fiery red in fall. Smooth light gray bark becomes deeply ridged with age. Showy red flowers precede foliage on intriguing reddish branches. An excellent street tree because of narrow form. Species is native to eastern United States. |
