| Often sold as Chrysanthemum maxiumum. Clump forming perennial. Fleshy , lance-shaped, toothed and glossy, dark green leaves. Blooms early summer to autumn with single or double white flowers 4 to 5 inches across with yellow disk florets. Shasta Daisies make excellent cut flowers, as they are long lasting ( most Chrysanthemums are). Tolerant of many soils, but do require water in hot, sunny climates. Divide clumps every 2 years or establish plants from seed. Grow Shasta daisies if you love to share plants with your friends. You'll all have plenty within 3 years! Remove and discard spent flowers to prolong bloom period. |
