| Mounding, suckering, deciduous small shrub with smooth hairless branches and spreading shoots. Grows to 4 feet tall and up to 5 feet wide. Leaves are 3-palmate, aromatic, to 4 inches in length. Leaflets are sparsely hairy, toothed, obovate, deep green, turning brilliant reddish-purple to orange in the fall. Small yellow flowers are in upright conicle panicles to 3/4 inches long, followed by red, round fruit. Withstands poor, exposed conditions and little water. Good groundcover. Fantastic fall color. Bold texture, especially with fall color, a nice accent. |
