| Clumping, often branching, biennial, excellent in borders or naturalized gardens. Grows to 5' tall and 36" wide. Leaves are 3- to 5-lobed, oblong to ovate, hairless to stiffly hairy, to 5" long. Leaflets are toothed with conspicuous veins.
Showy, 1 1/2" wide, orange to yellow with blackish-purple center, daisy-like blooms from summer until fall. Spreads rapidly to cover a large area. Durable, long-lived.
Remove spent flowers to encourage additional blooms. Native to Central and Eastern North America. |
