| 'Early Golden' plums are small to medium, yellow fruits with good flavor. An early bearer. A vigorous grower bearing heavily in alternate years, fruit is good for both eating fresh and cooking. Japanese Plums are best grown in the South and West, as they are not as cold hardy as the European Plums, blooming earlier, so more subject to frost damage. Generally produce better when cross pollination occurs. Heavy bearing varieties need to have the fruit thinned. |
