| Erect, spineless, deciduous shrub. Grows to 6 feet tall and wide. Young shoots are softly hairy. Bright green leaves are toothed, round to ovate, 3 to 5 lobed, to 3 iches in length, turning purplish-red in fall. Yellow, clove-scented, tubular flowers are held in pendent racemes, 2 inches in length, followed by rounded, black fruit, 1/2 inch diamter. A native to central United States. |
