| Suckering, spreading, deciduous small tree or shrub with smooth hairless branches and shoots. Grows to 10 feet tall and 15 feet wide. Leaves are pinnately compound to 20+ inches long with 11 to 13 lanceolate, deep green leaflets, which turn brilliant purplish-red and orange in the fall. Yellowish-green flowers are in upright, pyramidal panicles, to 8 inches long. Fruit is bristly, round, red. Withstands poor, exposed conditions and little water. Fantastic fall color. Bold texture, especially with fall color, a nice accent. |
