Blue-green leaves are oblong, to 1 1/4 inches long, turning a showy red in the fall. Small ,white, sometimes pink tinged flowers are urn shaped to 1/4 inch long, held singly or in pairs from the leaf axils. Edible, round, coral red berries to 1/2 inch across are produced in summer after flowers.
