| This is an upright deciduous tree. Leaves are dense, ovate, often lobed, purple, up to 3 inches long. Red buds develop into dark pink flowers in spring. Produces red fruit, approximately the size of a cherry. Grows to 15 to 25 feet tall and 10 to 20 feet wide. This tree does well in most soil, but will be more attractive if fed peat and compost. Moderately disease resistant. |
