| Prunus lusitanica is a large, bushy evergreen shrub which can reach the height of a small tree,
10 to 20 feet. The leaves are oval or ovate, 2 1/2 to 5 inches long, glossy, toothed, dark green. Small, white, fragrant flowers on 6 to 10 inch long racemes are produced in mid to late spring. The fruits are small, conical and dark purple.
A handsome plant that remains lustrous all year and has been reported hardy down to -10 degrees farenheit. |
