| Evergreen shrub with dense silvery blue foliage and a uniform growth habit. Good groundcover for large scale areas. Low-growing, 1 foot high by 9 to 15 feet wide. Leaves are acicular and scale-like, blue-green foliage turns dark purplish green in winter, slow growing, drought resistant. Produces small round dark blue fruit. Holds color well in winter. Excellent as a bank cover for erosion control. Found in Black Hills of South Dakota.
