| A spreading, compact, slow-growing evergreen shrub with leathery leaves and fragrant, crimson flowers in late spring to early summer. Grows 2-4 feet tall and wide. Withstands shearing, but best if left in natural form. An excellent plant for gardens in warmer climates. Often used as a foundation planting.
Soil should be moist, but well-drained and moderately fertile. Does well in full or dappled sun. In marginal areas, plant where there will be protection from cold winds or pockets. |
