|This is a picturesque, spreading, evergreen tree with with peeling, reddish bark (when mature). Leaves are oval, toothed, glossy and dark green. Bears white flowers in erect panicles, up to 8 in. tall, followed by spherical, bumpy, red fruit.
Favors rocky habitat and is found from Turkey to Portugal, Lebanon, Cyprus, western North America south to Mexico and Guatemala. Soil absolutly must be fast draining and water non-alkaline. Bird's love the winter berries.
