|A quick-growing perennial good for borders and edging. When grown from seed, will not flower until the second year. The preferred method of propagation is dividing roots in the spring. Similar in appearence to Hollyhock, only smaller and bushier. Blooms are mauve-pink, 2 inches across. Malva is not long-lived. M. alcea var. fastigiata is a narrow and upright perennial, bearing deep pink flowers well into the summer.
