| 'Carlotta' is an improved form (with larger leaves) of the species V. carlesii. This cultivar was introduced by W.B. Clarke Co., in San Jose, California.
This is a loose, open shrub with rounded form. Leaves are up to 4 inches long ovate, toothed and a deep green. Many will turn red in autumn. In spring it bears domed coryms of small white or pinkish-white flowers, followed by ellipsoid fruit, red ripening to black.
Excellent for a shrub border. If possible, locate this plant where it will receive partial summer shade and winter and spring sun. |
