|This is an upright, narrow deciduous tree. Leaves are dense, ovate, often lobed, dark green, bronzy, up to 3 inches long. Red buds develop into scarlet flowers in spring. Fruit are wine red, approximately the size of a cherry. Grows 15 to 25 feet tall and 10 to 20 feet wide. This tree does well in most soil, but will be more attractive if fed peat and compost.
