( Auratum Ash-leaved Maple )
| Acer nugundo, a medium-size shade tree, has bright green foliage, sometimes variegated with creamy white or pink margins. Bears pendent racemes of small yellow-green flowers. Fast growing with broadly rounded crown and interesting branching pattern. Can become weedy, breaks easily and hosts box elder bugs. The leaves of 'Auratum' are golden colored in spring, summer, and fall, but with the advent of autumn, the leaves die and drop off. Nice as a filler shrub or border. |
