| Silver Posie is one of the best Silver Thymes. It has white-silver variegated leaves and mauve-pink flowers. It will stay in good shape throughout winter. Ideal for both edging and mass plantings.
Thyme is a fragrant, small perennial that is evergreen and ground-hugging. A member of the mint family, it has square stems and pale lavender flowers. Great in the rock and herb garden, it excels as a container plant as well. Thyme does best in a mild climate, but can survive the occasional freeze. If you live in a cold climate, make sure it is planted in well-drained soil. Seed may be planted 2 or 3 weeks before the average date of the last frost. Rich soil will produce big, lush plants that are not fragrant. |
