| Flowers are scarlet red, to 1 inch in length, blooming in July-August. Grows 6 to 10 feet in height, 5 to 8 feet wide.
The deciduous azalea is known for excellent fall color and unsurpassed spring flowers and is usually less picky about soil, though it too prefers acid conditions. Though azaleas have a potentially large list of possible pest and disease problems, they are usually trouble free if planted correctly in proper cultural conditions. |
