| Bulbous herbaceous perennial native to South Africa. Flowers vary from green tipped cream, to pink, lilac, blue, or purple with dark tips. The light to dark green leaves are strap-like, often with maroon warts. Can be planted in the border in warm climates, or in containers. Frost tender, requiring minimum temperatures of 36 to 39F. Prefer sunny location and light, well drained soil. Best planted in autumn. Water well during the growing season, sparsely the rest of the year. |
