| Aromatic, clump-forming perennial, with lance shaped, mid-green leaves up to 4 inches long. Yellowish white flowers on 2 to 14 inch panicles bloom in late summer.
Artemisia is found mainly in the Northern hemisphere and also parts of southern Africa and South America. Many species are used medicinally and for cooking. One of the french fines herbs, tarragon should be used sparingly as it can be overpowering. Excellent in herb vinegars, tarragon is also delightful with fish, poultry, meats and vegetables. |
