X. Cupressocyparis leylandii
( Goldconda Leyland Cypress )
| It is a fast-growing, pyramidal, evergreen tree with scaly leaves held on flattened to quadrangular branchlet sprays. Foliage of 'Goldconda' is light green in summer, turning intensely golden yellow in fall and winter (even more so than 'Castlewellan Gold'). Produces round, brown female cones and ovoid, yellow male cones, 1/16-1/8 inch long. This vigorous conifer can grow over 100 feet tall, though it usually reaches around 80 feet tall and spreads 15 feet under landscape conditions. |
