| Arctostaphylos columbiana is a very leafy, bushy evergreen shrub native to the low coastal mountain areas of the western United States and Canada. Up to 10 feet tall. Has smooth, dark reddish-brown outer bark, which peels to reveal new bark beneath.
In May bears clusters of 1/4 inch, urn-shaped, white or pink fragrant flowers at the ends of the branches, followed by brownish-red, mealy but edible berries. |
