|Pallida, also known as Purple Heart, is a trailing perennial with ascending purple stems, large, pointed, oblong leaves that are fleshy, hairless and rich violet-purple. Produces bright pink flowers in paired cymes. In general, Tradescantias are tufted clumping perennials with erect, branching stems and lance-shaped, narrow, green leaves tinged with purple. Blooms are blue, purple, rose-pink or white, with three triangular petals each. Be sure to cut the foliage back in the autumn. Does well even in wet soils and filtered light.
