| Sometimes referred to as 'Compacta Alba', this cultivar is a spreading, semi-prostrate, evergreen shrub with dense, finely textured, silver-gray foliage reaching up to 6 inches in height and up to 8 inches in width. Masses of pure white, globe or urn-shaped flowers form at branch tips in spring. Leaves are pointed and leathery, 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches long, and look similar to rosemary leaves. Excellent for rock gardens, borders or ground cover. Likes moist, acidic soil. In drier sites, apply a good layer of mulch each spring. |
