|Gem Series marigold is a member of the Signet group which produces flowerheads in lemon-yellow, deep orange, or bright orange with darker markings. In general, marigolds are upright annuals that have cylindrical, simple or many-branched stems and pinnate leaves. Late spring to fall flowers are plentiful and about 1 inch across. Though thought of as a summer annual, works well for fall plantings too, especially as a chrysanthemum substitute. Great for borders and containers. A natural insect repellant for herb and vegetable gardens. Remove and discard spent flowers to encourage extended flowering and reduce "housing" for insects and disease. Grow in full sun in well-drained soil.
