| The oval, green joints reach up to 3 inches in length and 1 1/2 inches broad, they have 5 to 8 spines of 1 inch extending from large brown areoles while brown glochids cover the surface. In summer the large yellow or red flowers are borne singly and then produce oval, long, spiny fruit.
This genus has the largest membership of sun loving species. |
