| L. wigginsii is a true species lily with hairless stems and linear to lance-shaped leaves, that are scattered in 2-4 whorls. Bears racemes of unscented, pendent, deep yellow flowers, with purple markings. Needs moist, acidic soil and partial shade. Western US.
Deadhead spent flowers, but wait until stems and leaves turn yellow to cut back to within a few inches of the ground. Spring and fall are the best time to transplant, even though they can be transplanted any time. Provide ample moisture while flowering, but can take periods of drought otherwise. |
