|The cultivar, 'Black Ball' one of the Ball Series bears deep chocolate-toned flowers. An easily seeded annual with grey-green foliage and blue, pink, burgundy, or white 1 inch flowerheads. Blue is the favorite and ofen used in boutonnieres.
C. cyanus are attractive to bees and butterflies, and are good cut flowers. Sow seeds late summer or eary fall in milder climates or early spring in colder climates. Plants will do better if lime is added to the soil, especially in acidic areas.
