| This is a compact, oval, dense, deciduous shrub or small tree, to 20' tall and between 15'-20' wide. Winter shoots are orange-red and curl inward toward the stalk. Leaves are deep green, elliptic, to 4" long, and turn golden yellow in fall. Catkins are not produced. A beautiful specimen by water, but don't plant this tree anywhere near a septic system or its lines or you and the Roto-Rooter man will know each other on a first name basis. |
