Abies cephalonica
( Dwarf Greek Fir )
| Low and spreading dwarf variety of the species reaching only 20 inches tall and 3 feet to 10 feet wide. Ideal speciman for small spaces or dwarf gardens. Needles are short, dark green, glossy, silvery white underneath. Leaves are arranged radially around the shoot which distinguishes this species from others. Cones are cylindrical, resinous, and green before ripening to brown and releasing seeds. Performs best when given partial shade and ample water in well drained soil. Sometimes referred to as Abies cephalonica 'Nana'. |
