| Acer campestre is a slow-growing deciduous tree with dark, oval leaves that turn yellow in the autumn. The 5 lobed leaves are composed of 3 to 5 entire lobes. Blooms in corymbs of 5 green flowers followed by winged fruit. The cultivar, 'Royal Ruby' is a vigorous grower to 15 feet tall with purple leaves in the spring, turning to dark green in late summer. Not as showy as 'Red Shine' but grows faster. |
