| Bulbous herbaceous perennial native to South Africa. Racemes bear up to 20 yellow tubular flowers. Mid-green leaves are strap-like and basal. Can be planted in the border in warm climates, or in containers. Frost tender, requiring minimum temperatures of 36 to 39F. Prefer sunny location and light, well drained soil. Best planted in autumn. Water well during the growing season, sparsely the rest of the year. |
