| An epiphytic orchid. One folded, lance-shaped leaf (to 10 inches long) grows from the conical pseudobulb. Flowers in spring. Indoors, use epiphytic orchid potting mix in shallow pans, with bright, filtered light in summer, full light in winter. Requires moderate humidity and misting in summer, and a short rest period in winter (reducing temperature to 32 to 35 degrees Farenheit). Repot annually, before flowering. Outdoors, plant midspring in a sheltered site, partially shaded, with humus-rich soil that is well-drained. |
