| Sparsely branched, large evergreen shrub or small tree best used at the back of a shrub border or houseplant where not hardy. Leaves are glossy, dark green on top and dark green-brown beneath with white midribs and reach 3 to 16 inches long; toothes leaflets reach 6 to 9 inches long. Umbels of yellowish green flowers bloom in fall and winter; round black fruit follows blooms. Also known as Aralia elegantissima or Dizygotheca elegantissima. |
