| Kathleen Pinsent is a ligulatae (one of the 5 Saxifrage categories) saxifrage with rosettes of linear to spoon-shaped, lime-encrusted silvery-green leaves, 2 1/2 inches to 4 1/2 inches long. After 3 or 4 years, it produces arching panicles, up to 8 inches long, of star-shaped, light pink, five petaled flowers, to 3/4 inch wide. These are excellent plants for the rock garden in well-drained, alkaline soil of moderate fertility. |
