|Hewitt's Double lacks stamens but has many mauve septals, forming pompon-like flowers. Grown erect, hairless, clump-forming, rhizomatous pernnial with slend stems, shaded dark purple. Leaves are 14 inches long. Numerous long-stalked, fluffy flowers, lilac to white sepals. These like semi-shade, moist, well-drained soil, and are very good for border plants and woodland gardens.
