| The cultivar, 'Lipstick' is a flavorful sweet pepper with a tapered shape, 4 inches long with medium thick flesh. Great in salads, cooking and roasting. Green at 53 days, red at 73 days. Early heavy yields, even in a cool summer.
C. annuum seed should be started indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost. Sow the seeds in sandy soil and give them warmth; night time temperatures should be above 62F. Transplant 12-16 inches apart. To keep compact, pinch leaves on young plants. Full sun and monthly fertilizing produces best growth and fruiting results. It is thought to have originated in Bolivia or Southern Brazil. Days to maturity range from 80 to 120. |
