Salvia confertiflora
( Sage )
| From late summer to midautumn, S. conferiflora bears spikes of orange-red flowers 1/2 inches long with deep red sepals. This woody-based perennial has egg-shaped yellow-green leaves that are scalloped and densely woolly, underneath especially. Salvia can be planted in a sunny border, in a meadow or used for bedding and container planting. They grow best in light moderately fertile, humus soil but well drained in full sun to light shade. |
| Important Info : If the leaves on this perennial are crushed, it gives off an unpleasant scent. |
