| This perennial is rosette in form and has hairy, toothed, lance-shaped leaves. From late spring to early summer cup-shaped blue flowers are borne. This dramatic plant grows to a height of 4-5 feet tall and 2 feet wide. Best suited to zones 7-8 and well-drained, humus-rich soil that is neutral to slightly acid. Requires partial shade. Site should be protected from cold drafts. Mulch well. Ideal for the cool moist garden. Will not tolerate heat or drought. |
