Laburnocytisus adamii
( Laburnocytisus )
| Deciduous tree 20 to 25 feet tall. Seeds are poisonous, contain cytisine, found in lesser amounts in all parts of the plant. Laburnocytisus adamii is a genus grafted hybrid, between Cytisus purpureus and Laburnum anagyroides. It was first discovered at the nursery of Jean Louis Adam in Paris in 1825. On a grafted plant, a branch appeared with purple-yellow flowers showing traits of both parents. Plants are of interest to horticulturists, and show traits that are intermediate to both parents, as well as pure traits of both Cytisus and Laburnum.
