| 'Red Pillar' is an upright, bushy perennial that is usually treated as an annual. Grows to 18" tall and 14" wide. Leaves are oval, serrulate, pubescent, light to deep green, to 3" long. Widely grown for its dense, terminal spiked, brilliant scarlet, summer flowers that are tubular in form and encased in bracts of the same color. Outstanding for mass plantings, borders, or containers. Thrives in full sun. Heat and drought tolerant. Native to Brazil. |
