Raphia farinifera
( Raffia Palm )
| Large and spreading palm with a large trunk usually covered in old leaf bases. Leaves arch and have many linear leaflets that reach up to 6 feet long. Flowers are green and borne in summer. Round, scaly orange fruit follows bloom. Raffia is often used for decorative wrapping. Spider mites may be a problem under glass.
