| V. arctostaphylos is a deciduous, spreading shrub with lance-shaped, glossy dark-green leaves, to 1 1/2 in. long colored red and purple in autumn. White bell-shaped, pink tinged flowers are borne in axillary and terminal racemes. Followed by delicious, edible, dark purple berries.
Usually grown for it's sweet fruit, can also be utilized in a mixed shrub border or woodland garden. This plant loves acid soil. |
