| Purpurascens Quadrifolium is a hardy, rhizomatous, stem-rooting perennial with 4-palmate leaves with deep purple maroon centers and mid-green margins. Produces small white flowers. In general, Trifolium has many species, most of them cover crops. They are excellent for overwintering vacant land, as they are nitrogen fixing. Some can be used effectively for ground cover or as lawn substitutes. The foliage is the typical three-leaved clover, very occasionally four. Require full sun to partial shade and regular moisture. |
