| Ledum glandulosum is a low growing evergreen shrub. Erect branches, rounded, spreading habit. Leaves are narrow, oval to ovate, deep green above and whitish colored hairs on the leaf undersides. Small, white flowers are borne in 2 inch corymbs, late spring to early summer. Prefers a moist, peaty soil, found in peat bogs. Very pretty plant for cool, boggy areas. Native from Greenland, to Alberta, British Columbia, and Washington, south to Pensylvania and Wisconsin. A traditional tea can be made from the leaves. |
